Calling For God

A newborn child is found strangled and thrown in the trash.
A woman is raped.
Three men are shot to death by five others.
Childhood innocence lost on the living room couch.
Drugs for sale, cheap.
By the death of one, others seek the death of another.
Where is hope? Where is salvation?
I search for answers but the clouds speak no reply.
I cannot see what they claim is all around me.
I call for God but there is no answer.
